This modern day Mark Twain adventure begins when Zak, (Zack Gottsagen) a young man with Down Syndrome, runs away from the nursing home where he lives, to chase his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. Meeting up with a small- time outlaw, Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), provides more than he bargained for, as the pair is pursued by the authorities and Eleanor (Dakoda Johnson), Zak’s caretaker. Although this is a fictional story, there is some truth behind the events of The PBF. Not only is he played by newcomer Zack Gottsagen, an actor with Down Syndrome, but it was actually built around him-- his own personality and experiences.
